Christmases Yet to Come

The Mr. and I have decided that two years from now our yearly vacation is going to be a Christmas vacation. We're going to take the week of Christmas and leave the rest of the world behind. We're getting a cabin in Colorado somewhere in the mountains where hopefully we get snowstormed in. We're going to cut down a very large, beautiful tree. We're going to light a fire in a fireplace, listen to some sappy old Christmas songs, sit in our cozy pajamas and sip hot chocolate and liquered-up eggnog all week long.

We'll have to do the whole his-family-and-my-family thing before or after the actual holiday. Because that one Christmas, it's just going to be about the three of us (maybe four?), and I can't wait. I can smell the tree...taste the hot cocoa...feel the warmth of the fire...picture the huge wet flakes of snow falling outside the cabin's huge windows. And it will be perfect. Because it will be me and him and her, and I can't wait.

Maybe a few years after that we'll pull a Kenny Chesney. We'll fly down to the islands and put some lights on a coconut tree and sip some icy drinks. And that Christmas all we'll need is a real good tan ;)
